In Colorado, middle-school kids on career day learned about being a police officer, an architect… and a drag queen from a cross-dressing man named Jessica L’Whor. Outrage ensued, but it was the parents who were blamed.
After parents were naturally outraged, the school did “apologize” for not notifying them of the guest speakers present at the function, but in the response, the principal made it very clear that the problem was with parents who objected to the demonstration, not the fact that a drag queen was set up as a role model for impressionable 12-year-olds.
“I was pretty appalled. I was pretty surprised. It was a shock because no one was notified,” parent Jen Payer said.
L’Whor is a gay man who was invited by a student relative to be a guest speaker on career day.
“This person is an adult entertainer and is talking to 12-year-old students about something that’s adult nature,” parent Heather Rogers said.
In her veiled “apology,” Rocky Top principal Chelsea Behanna said “a handful of parents” objected to having a drag queen set up as a role model, but next time, the school will have whoever they want. If parents don’t like it, they can remove their kids from that part of the program.
Many people have long recognized the complete and total takeover of the public school system by the left, and this “career day” brainwashing is just another instance.
In a letter sent to parents on Monday, Behanna said L’Whor “read a chapter from ‘Horrible Harry’ and she used the text to illustrate the damage bullies can do, the need to always put kindness and acceptance at the forefront, and the shortsightedness of judging a book by its cover.”
Such blanket acceptance sounds good on the surface, but people who live in the real world and who have matured past the age of 12 understand that “acceptance” of evil only leads to pain and possible damnation.
Of course, the way Behanna belittled the parents who logically considered a cross-dresser an inappropriate role model also demonstrates her mentality.
Rather than take a legitimate look at empirical data concerning the susceptibility of pre-teens, her solution was to create a situation where other children could be bullied for not participating in such indoctrination.
“Should you feel like any of the sessions are not appropriate for your child, you’ll be welcome to notify us and we’ll make alternate arrangements for your child during that time,” the principal wrote.
Just two months ago, Brown University pulled a scientific study from campus after it demonstrated “rapid-onset gender dysphoria,” which is a phenomenon “where teens in a friend group who never experienced questions about their gender before, suddenly identify as transgender at the same time. This occurs typically after a flood of social media use, and binge-watching YouTube videos about transitioning.”
It added that parents reported their children “exhibited an increase in social media/internet use prior to disclosure of a transgender identity,” leading researchers to determine that “friends and online sources could spread certain beliefs.”
However, rather than continue to publish the study after backlash from the trans community, the empirical data was censored.
Perhaps Behanna wasn’t aware of this new information… Or perhaps she was, and the inclusion of a cross-dressing, gay man was a way to introduce that idea to these students?
District spokesperson Joe Ferdani said the school believed the visit by L’Whor would “demonstrate their inclusiveness of all, no matter how they prefer to dress.”
“The school’s focus is to have an event that is representative of the diverse backgrounds and careers in the community,” Ferdani said.
Many people wonder if the district is seriously suggesting that a drag queen performer is a legitimate “career,” and they are disgusted by the school’s response.
Teaching children that it’s okay to jettison the gender lines is not something most people want their tax dollars being used for, but it seems that schools are determined to churn out another generation of confused, under-educated kids.
If parents want students to learn about drag queens, they can take them to a burlesque show. It should not be conducted by the state-sponsored education system.

L’Whor said she hoped parents would see her visit as educational. “I would tell the parents, ‘I’m not telling your kid to go off and become a drag queen. I’m telling them to have the conversations. Because it will come up in life.”
But, do they really need to talk about it at that age? Imagine the outcry if a Minister had been one of the guests. The cries of “separation of church and state” would still echo through the halls.
