Ocasio-Cortez Whines She Can’t Afford Move To D.C., Americans Issue Reality Check

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is only 29-years-old and will be by far the youngest member of Congress when she arrives in Washington, D.C., in 2019. But, there’s one big problem that is now plaguing the new socialist darling. She just told the New York Times she is no longer drawing a salary, saying, “So, how do I get an apartment?” Well, the new Congresswoman who ran on “free health care for all” just got a big reality check from Americans.

It’s so ironic that Ocasio-Cortez is now wondering how she will pay for a Washington, D.C., apartment. Coming from the socialistic wonder-girl, who was exposed time and time again as not having any idea of how a basic economy works, it’s not surprising she’s puzzled about how she’ll pay for her own digs.

She told the lying New York Times that gap before she gets her Congressional salary will be “very unusual because I can’t really take a salary. I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress,” she said. “So, how do I get an apartment?” she wondered. “Those little things are very real.”

Well, this isn’t the first time Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has spouted nonsense and made Americans shake their heads in utter shock. Margaret Hoover, the host of PBS’ “Firing Line,” asked Ocasio-Cortez during an interview, “Do you think that capitalism has failed to deliver for working-class Americans?”

“Well, I think the numbers you just talked about is part of the problem, right?” Ocasio-Cortez said. “We look at these figures and we say, ‘Oh, unemployment is low, everything is fine, right?'”

Well, yeah, most people see low unemployment as a good thing, but not Ocasio-Cortez, who boasts she has a degree in economics from Boston University. Ocasio-Cortez also seemed to misunderstand the difference between unemployment and underemployment, asserting that unemployment is low because people are working multiple jobs.

“Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs,” she said. “Unemployment is low because people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their family.”

She is talking nonsense, not backed up by any statistics, but let’s take her at her word for a second. If people really had two jobs, that means there are JOBS — so many jobs people have TWO. And, she has a degree in economics?

Then, there is the Congresswoman-elect’s plan to abolish ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement). The Daily Caller reports, “[Ocasio-Cortez] leads the movement to abolish ICE and ran on a platform of doing so because she wants to ‘see to it that our undocumented neighbors are treated with the dignity and respect owed to all people, regardless of citizenship status.'”

But, the woman, who Democratic Committee Chairman Tom Perez calls “the future of our party,” had her biggest gaffe over her ridiculous idea to have “Medicare for all.” Fox News reports, “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a quick answer when asked how Americans would pay for the ‘Medicare for all’ plan she and other socialist-leaning Democrats favor: ‘Just pay for it.‘”

That’s a cute answer, one we would expect from an ignorant kid who has no idea about the real world. And, when Americans heard Ocasio-Cortez bellyaching about her housing needs in Washington, D.C., they gave her a big reality check.

Responding to the socialistic darling’s statement that she can’t afford to move, Twitter user Toni Brooks posted, “‘You just pay for it’… lol! That was her answer to paying for the ‘Medicare for All’ plan. So, just pay your rent @Ocasio2018.”

Yeah, what’s the problem? Just pay for it, like health care for all, right? Just pull out your checkbook and write a check, what’s the big deal?

Then, we have Twitter user “Life is Good,” who tweeted, “And, she has an economics degree? Is this true? How is she going to help govern if she is unable to govern herself?”

There were thousands of responses from Americans who are just plain baffled that Ocasio-Cortez got elected, and now, she is continuing to make these ridiculous statements. After she got elected, she had no idea about the swearing-in process, saying she was going to get “inaugurated.”

According to Fox News, she said, “It doesn’t mean you get everything tomorrow. As much as I would love that, I would love to get inaugurated January 3rd, [and] January 4th we’re signing health care, we’re signing this.”

Americans on social media were pointing out that the 29-year-old would also not have the ability to sign bills into law, as that would still be the responsibility of President Trump. Yep, she really said that, too. She thinks she is going to just write up a bill for “healthcare for all” and bingo, it’s a law.

Now, who voted for her? How did she get elected? And, this is the future of the Democratic Party? Well, we wish the Democrats good luck. They are really going to need it.
