This weekend saw hundreds of migrants try to storm the San Ysidro Port of Entry. In an effort to thwart those who were climbing fences and throwing rocks and bottles at authorities, Border Patrol agents used basic crowd control methods. Naturally, liberals freaked out. But there is an inconvenient fact that invalidates their complaints.
We know the migrant caravans that have marched toward our border is a crisis in the making. The United States cannot allow thousands of migrants to simply walk into our country. Letting them in sets a dangerous pattern that could be repeated hundreds of times in the coming years.
That’s exactly what Democrats wanted.
With President Donald Trump in the White House, illegal immigration is being put to an end. Barack Obama’s strategy to let in migrants — through weak border policy — no longer works. So, they are going for “brute force” tactics: sending thousands of migrants all at once to our border.
President Trump has made it clear that this invasion force will not be welcomed. He has enacted numerous steps to protect our border. Those include sending thousands of troops to assist Border Patrol. He has also ordered stronger defenses along the border, including massive amounts of razor wire. Trump has also required migrants to seek asylum at a deliberately slow pace, to ensure they cannot rush the border.
Of course, liberals complained. It’s as if they don’t care about our country at all. Anyone that cares about America’s national security would agree we cannot let caravans march over our border. Yet liberals in the media and in Washington accuse Trump of being cruel when he protects our country.
Yesterday, Trump’s warnings about the caravan came true, when hundreds of migrants stormed the San Ysidro Port of Entry. Instead of following orders and applying for asylum (which they had always claimed to do), they tried to climb fences and attacked border agents, throwing rocks and bottles.
Our agents responded by using tear gas to control the chaos. Liberals had a meltdown. I guess Border Patrol was just supposed to let these people riot at our border? Should our brave men and women who defend our country stand down as hundreds of migrants attacked them?
Of course not. But Democrats still complain. The problem is, they weren’t this upset when Border Patrol did the exact same thing during the Obama administration.

The event happened at the same port in 2013. A large group of migrants tried to storm the port, at a point where a solitary agent was protecting it.

The group first approached a lone agent stationed about 1/8 of a mile north of the border. They ignored his commands to stop, so he fired pepper balls to try to stop them and protect himself, Caston said.
As the crowd kept advancing and throwing rocks and bottles, she said, more agents came to the scene and used other “intermediate use-of-force devices” to push back the group. The agents also contacted Mexican law enforcement. [Source: San Diego Union Tribune]
Now, tell me this: did social media blow up when this happened, way back in 2013? The same liberals who are complaining today were on Twitter and Facebook back them. They worked in the same newsrooms. Many of the same politicians were in office.
Yet when Border Patrol — under the leadership of Obama — was forced to use crowd control tactics to stop a riot, nobody complained.
The lives of border agents were at stake, the same as yesterday. A group of migrants wanted to illegally enter the country. On top of that, they were willing to use violence to break through. Border agents had no choice but to use basic crowd control tactics, like pepper balls and tear gas, to stop these migrants from doing much worse.
Seems like, five years ago, Democrats were willing to accept this as a necessary means to keep the border safe. Today? I guess border agents shouldn’t do anything to keep themselves — and the country — safe.
Trump has warned us that many in these migrant caravans are dangerous. They are not peaceful victims simply seeking a better life in America. Some are criminals and even terrorists. They are coming to America to flee justice from their home countries.
They will do anything to enter the country — even commit violence. Yesterday’s scene at the border proved that. Many among the caravan aren’t interested in following our laws or rules. They will use violence to get their way.
The fact that Border Patrol used non-lethal tactics to stop them should be applauded. SHARE this tidbit of news if you don’t want liberals to get away with their dishonesty.
